Meet Andrew

Commercial experience.
A practical, personal approach.

I’m Andrew Byers. My experience spans more than 30 years in operational and commercial leadership, from engineering and publishing to international communications and technology businesses.

Before establishing BDB15 in 2018, I held senior roles at RigNet, Omnisens and HarperCollins. Today I work with founders and senior teams who need experienced support for a specific challenge or a new stage of growth.

I bring a clear view of customer needs, experience of leading teams through change, and a willingness to ask the questions that help a business move forward.

The next stage

You’ve built a business.
Where does it go from here?

Growth can bring questions that your existing structure no longer answers. The strategy needs sharpening. The team needs direction. Or a leadership gap needs to be filled.

I help you understand what the business and its customers need, agree the priorities and move forward with confidence. My strongest fit is with founder-managed businesses trading for more than three years.

When to bring me in

Does this sound like your business?

Growth has become harder to sustain.

The business has momentum, but the way you sell, organise and deliver needs to evolve. I help connect customer needs with a practical growth strategy.

Too much still depends on the founder.

Decisions and priorities keep coming back to you. I work alongside you and the leadership team to create clearer responsibilities and stronger alignment.

A leadership gap is slowing progress.

A departure, transition or restructure has left the business needing experienced executive capacity. Fractional leadership provides a defined commitment while you plan the longer term.

You need room to think clearly.

Day-to-day demands are crowding out strategic thinking. Coaching gives you a structured space to clarify priorities and remain accountable for progress.

Experience with perspective

Commercial thinking.
Human understanding.

From engineering and global communications to medical technology and professional services, I’ve worked with businesses at very different stages of growth.

The common thread is people: understanding customers, bringing teams with you and making a strategy work in practice.

Fivefold regional turnover growth over four years.

My contribution included creating the strategy, gaining company buy-in and leading Finance, Operations and Sales.

Chloride Masterpower · Trade sale

A sale at 13 times earnings.

I worked with the founder, prepared supporting documentation, presented to the buyer and negotiated with the buying team.
